Every December, 2 million lights dazzle downtown Austin, Texas. This year is the 55th anniversary of The Austin Trail of Lights.
About 400,000 visitors hit the trail to explore the more than 2 miles of shimmering wonders. At the heart of the festival is a majestic holiday tree made up of more than 3,000 lights. The lights are strung from a historic tower that’s 155 feet tall.
“Everyone has their favorite Austin Trail of Lights memory,” says Rachel Green, president of the Trail of Lights Foundation. “And it’s not the holiday season without them.”
