On June 2, Miles Morales swings back into action. And this time, he’s joined by many, many more Spider-People! Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is the sequel to the 2018 hit. It promises more multiverse adventures and a lot more of the groundbreaking animation seen in the original.

According to Phil Lord and Chris Miller, writers and producers of the film, each universe Miles visits is meant to look like a different artist created it. For example, the home universe of Ghost-Spider—aka Gwen Stacy—has a watercolor feel. A universe that’s a Manhattan-Mumbai mash-up is inspired by Indian comic books.
